MinGW gets-inst-20120426

Bramwell Simpson
I am trying to install MinGW for my laptop, but every time I try, it tells me - "System cannot find the file specified" and "Error cleaning Log file(1)". I have no idea on how to fix it. I am running 64-bit windows 8.1. Thanks for any help.

You need to help us to help you; specifically, you need to tell us
EXACTLY how you are going about "trying to install MinGW" ... what
commands you are running, how you are invoking them, and IN-CONTEXT
diagnostics produced.  The diagnosics, to which you vaguely allude,
look like nothing which I would expect from the current installer,
(which is mingw-get-setup.exe v0.6.2, dated 2013-10-04); I suspect,
given the 20120426 date stamp mentioned in your subject line, that
you may be trying to run the OBSOLETE mingw-get-inst.exe temporary
tool, which is unmaintained, and no longer supported.
